Radiant House
Liverpool
Radiant House is a Grade II listed building in the heart of Liverpool's shopping district. The original Head Office of British Gas constructed in the 1920's and now housing retail tenants was in grave need of repair to protect its future.
An unusual commission following a series of tenders and negotiations resulting in a contract to conduct 'wants of repair' to this historic nine storey investment property.
Conducted over the Christmas shopping period, work required careful planning in order to guarantee public and site safety and maintain unhindered access to retail tenancies during a crucial trading period.
A complete overhaul of the buildings twelve failing roofs, including zinc and lead work, together with structural panel repairs and the renovation of glazed brickwork and historic detailing left this building in great shape.
A large and challenging project requiring strict logistical control of the site, strong tenant liaison and robust safety enforcement.
