Rowntree Park Lodge Reading Cafe
York
We were delighted to be asked to tender for this project, our first for the City of York Council. The proposal to refurbish the Cafe and Lodge in the beautiful setting of Rowntree Park would return the building to its former glory, ready to receive visitors once again.
Situated in the historic memorial park, dedicated to the people of York by philanthropist Joseph Rowntree in the early 1900's. The proposal was to re-launch the failing cafe as a social and cultural hub for the neighbourhood and also to trade as one of the Cities functioning lending libraries.
The modification and partial refurbishment of the lodge building was necessary to bring both front and back of house areas up to a suitably high quality and operational standard to meet the needs of a busy catering establishment.
Our works included the alteration and refurbishment of public eating areas, rest rooms modifications and adaptation for disabled use, servery refurbishment, kitchen installations, improved automation and access measures together with exterior terracing alterations, exterior repairs and decoration and formation of new storage facilities.
